Vieques

Bike it, fish it, kayak it, dive it or camp on its beautiful beaches with us!
Legendary character part of the Vieques folklore.  Her name was Maria Magdalena Felix, born in Christiansted, Saint Croix.  She arrived on Vieques at the age of 10 in 1858 and  lived to the ripe ole age of 110.  She is immortalized in poems and is part of our oral tradition.

Of africo -caribbean descent, she is said to have been a very beautiful woman who went insane after her husband’s death and started wandering the streets of Vieques.  Hence  the 8k run that loops around Santa Maria and back to the municipality is named after her.

Visit the Museum Fort Count Mirasol Wednesday- Sunday 8:30am to 4:20 pm.
