Course Outline
The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches you how to prevent, recognize, and manage diving emergencies while building confidence, awareness, and leadership skills. Through hands-on training and realistic rescue scenarios, you’ll learn self-rescue techniques, how to assist distressed or unresponsive divers, and how to manage emergency situations both underwater and at the surface. This challenging yet rewarding course is a major step in becoming a safer, more capable diver and is a prerequisite for professional-level PADI training.

We strongly recommend that all visitors to Vieques purchase travel insurance. Travel insurance helps protect you against unexpected delays, medical emergencies, weather disruptions, and trip interruptions while traveling to the island.
Cancellation Policy
Guests are responsible for arriving in Vieques in time for their scheduled activity. Travel delays to the island do not constitute a reason for refunds. All refunds or rescheduling requests are handled at the discretion of Black Beard Sports and within applicable timeframes.
All dive classes require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total course cost to secure your spot and cover learning materials. The remaining balance will be charged one week prior to the class. Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before the class start time and are eligible for a refund of up to 50% of the total course cost.
Rescheduling Fee: If a guest reschedules a tour within 72 hours of the scheduled time, a non-refundable $25 per person fee will apply. Cancellations of rescheduled classes are not eligible for a refund. If a class is rescheduled by Black Beard Sports, no fee will apply. If an class is canceled by Black Beard Sports, a full refund will be issued, minus any eLearning material costs.

What if it rains?
Light rain does not cancel classes. Trips are only canceled if weather conditions are unsafe (such as high winds or thunderstorms). If we must cancel for safety reasons, we will contact you directly.

What if I don't have an active First Aid Certification?
We can certify you as an Emergency First Responder and Oxygen Provider. Add one or both of these certifications to your Rescue Course at a discounted rate, just let us know ahead of time!
What should I bring with me?
Limit the number of valuables you bring with you.
We recommend bringing a towel to dry off with after the tour.
Reef friendly sunscreen and/or sun shirts. *We sell both at our retail store
And if you had a great time, gratuities for your guide are always appreciated.
